Purpose of Testing

This comprehensive annual laboratory evaluation was performed approximately ten months after beginning your strict carnivore diet. The goals were to monitor recovery of the persistent anemia, assess inflammatory activity, evaluate kidney and liver function, review thyroid replacement therapy, monitor cardiovascular risk factors, and measure long-term metabolic health.

This report is one of the strongest in your Health Inventory because it documents continued excellent inflammatory control, significant improvement in the anemia, preserved kidney function, and an exceptionally favorable HDL/triglyceride profile, while identifying LDL cholesterol and Hemoglobin A1c as the principal ongoing areas for discussion.

The historical graph on page 5 clearly shows this upward trend. Although hemoglobin remained just below the laboratory reference range, the improvement from 11.2 to 12.6 g/dL over five months represents meaningful hematologic recovery.


2. White Blood Cell Differential

Interpretation

One of the most encouraging findings is the improvement in eosinophilia.

Compared with June 2024:

  • Absolute eosinophils: 0.9 → 0.4 ×10³/µL

The previously elevated eosinophil count has essentially normalized, reducing concern for ongoing allergic or inflammatory activation.


3. Kidney Function

  • BUN/Creatinine Ratio: 38 (High)

Interpretation

Kidney filtration remains excellent.

Compared with June 2024:

  • Creatinine improved slightly (0.92 → 0.88).
  • eGFR improved (81 → 83).
  • BUN decreased (40 → 33), although it remains above the laboratory reference range.

Given your high-protein carnivore diet, the persistently elevated BUN and BUN/Creatinine ratio are likely influenced by dietary protein intake and hydration status rather than impaired kidney function.


4. Liver Function

  • LDL increased slightly (136 → 141 mg/dL) but remained below the 151 mg/dL values seen in late 2022 and 2023.

6. Metabolic Health

Interpretation

Fasting glucose remained excellent.

However, Hemoglobin A1c increased from 5.4% (August 2024) to 5.8%, returning to the laboratory’s prediabetes range.

The historical chart on page 6 illustrates this fluctuation. Because your fasting glucose remained normal and you have experienced intermittent anemia, this A1c value should be interpreted within the broader clinical context rather than in isolation.


7. Thyroid Function

Results
  • Free T4: 1.24 ng/dL
  • TSH: 1.110 μIU/mL

Interpretation

Thyroid replacement therapy continues to provide excellent control.

Both values remain comfortably within the normal reference ranges.


8. Inflammatory Status

C-Reactive Protein (CRP)

Interpretation

This is one of the strongest findings in the report.
