2. Health Milestones
This subsection highlights major turning points rather than procedures.
2021 — Severe Systemic Inflammatory Illness
The period of greatest physical decline, characterized by marked systemic inflammation, elevated ESR and CRP, normocytic anemia, and debilitating muscle and joint pain.
Summary
During 2021, I experienced a severe systemic inflammatory illness that resulted in a significant decline in my overall health. Laboratory studies demonstrated marked elevations in inflammatory markers, including ESR and CRP, accompanied by the development of normocytic anemia. This period was characterized by widespread muscle and joint pain, profound fatigue, and a substantial reduction in physical function. Despite extensive medical evaluation and treatment, the underlying cause remained uncertain.
This illness marked the lowest point in my health journey and became the major turning point in my subsequent efforts to understand and improve my health.
Clinical Features
Marked systemic inflammation
Elevated ESR and CRP
Development of normocytic anemia
Significant muscle and joint pain
Reduced strength and endurance
Decline in overall health and quality of life
Significance
This inflammatory episode serves as the baseline against which all subsequent recovery has been measured. It directly preceded the recovery period that began in late 2021 and eventually led to major lifestyle changes, including the adoption of a strict carnivore diet in January 2024.
Late 2021–2022 — Beginning of Recovery
Gradual recovery following dietary changes, with progressive normalization of inflammatory markers, improved strength, and increasing physical function.
January 1, 2024 — Lifestyle Transformation
Adopted a strict carnivore diet and later incorporated intermittent fasting. This marked the beginning of sustained improvements in gastrointestinal health, energy, blood pressure, metabolic health, and overall well-being.
2026 — Longitudinal Health Understanding
Completion of a comprehensive Health Inventory integrating decades of medical history, laboratory trends, and physician consultations into a single lifelong health record.
